“Surely Allah loves those who always turn to Him in repentance and those who purify themselves.” (Qur'an 2:222)

Allah has promised to forgive those who seek His mercy:

“Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins.1 He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’” (Qur'an 39:53)



4. Effort to Change


While repentance is essential, so is taking steps to avoid the sin. This might include:

  • Changing your environment.

  • Avoiding triggers or bad company.

  • Increasing acts of worship and remembrance of Allah.





5. Remember Allah's Forgiveness is Not a License to Sin


Repeating a sin knowingly and using Allah's mercy as an excuse is not true repentance. Repentance must be genuine, and there should be an effort to avoid falling into the sin again.
